CHIVASSO GENERAL HOSPITAL - TURIN - ITALY
The plan is located in an area in the center of the city of Chivasso, where the present hospital is located and foresaw the expansion of the hospital using part of the structure which was used as a parking area.
From a general point of view it was a plan regarding expansion and renovation which foresaw a series of interventions:
- the construction of a new external 5 storey building designed to host general and educative services, wards and consulting rooms;
- the general renovation with the extension of the 1970's building;
- the partial renovation of the East Wing of the monumental building;
- the construction of a 2 level garage;
- the construction of a central cogeneration plant;
- the arrangement of the external areas and practicability.
From a formal point of view the project adopts volumetric solutions and stylistic materials and features that emphasize the sense of contemporaneous architecture but does not contrast with the existing historical wing and the new diagnostics and therapeutics building under construction.
