INFECTIOUS DISEASES HOSPITAL
"L. SPALLANZANI" - ROME
Planned by a team of architects and specialists in infectious diseases, it is the first example in Italy of a hospital dedicated to the treatment of patients affected with AIDS, with the possibility of isolating contagious pathologies in compliance with the most advanced standards.
It is endowed with four infective disease units, a paediatric infective disease unit and a university unit which deals with respiratory diseases. With the hospital ward and day hospital attached to one another the internal routes for personnel, patients and visitors have been distinctly separated.
The choices and solutions during planning has permitted better safety conditions for workers and has guaranteed a comfortable environment for patients these avant-garde solutions were of great importance for successive hospital planning. |
