MAIN ENTRANCE SQUARE
"A. GEMELLI" UNIVERSITY GENERAL HOSPITAL - ROME
The plan foresaw the development of a square on the roof of a multilevel car park inside the University general hospital A. Gemelli. The development was to guarantee the connection with the preexisting square adjacent to the main entrance and expand the external leisure areas. The paving in red granite gave it the continuity to the existing building, whereas the air inlets from the underlying car park were a starting point and became an integral part of the plan of the square. Two large rectangular slabs in marble move in this space making use of the slight inclination of the ground and create seats, covering for the air inlets and a frame for a stretch of water.
